I started out late wanting to be a more ' serious ' artist. I attended Guildhall University in London and got my BA in Fine art back in 2000 at the tender age of 38. Although I have all ways been creating work before then. Unfortunately, I suffer from depreciation of my own art work and destroyed a lot of my earlier work from before 1995. Which was both really stupid and yet necessary, but left me with hardly any work to exhibit - so I’m starting out again and hopefully some pieces will survive.
My work verges on many styles, and apart from my own one, It has been influenced by such visionaries as Arcimboldo, Rembrandt, Dali, Nash, Max Ernst. And Aubrey Beardsley, Bernie Wrightson and Chris Offeli more recently. There are many more, but the list would go on and on and in a dry way to.
I used to love painting in oil colours, but discovered that the chemicals in the cleaning and thinning mediums made me ill. I tried using other coloured paints, like acrylic and water colours but could never use them well. So, I now use healthy and graphically alternative tools, such as biros and traditional nibbed pen and ink.
So, as a Surrealistic and symbolic-expressionist artist, I hope you enjoy my work and come visit my website
